Wingate – Word has been received of the death of Glen Wilson, 82, of 136 Myrtle St., Apotka, Fla. Mr. Wilson died in his home Jan 7. He was a long time resident of the Wingate community, where he served as a Coal Creek Township trustee and operated a small farm. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Crane Wilson; a daughter, Charlotte Allen; a granddaughter, Susan; and a grandson, Greg. All are living at Apotka. Services were in Daldwin Fairchild Funeral Home with burial at Apotka. smc

Wingate – Glenn L. Wilson, 82, formerly of Wingate, died Jan. 7 in his home at Apopka, Fla. Mr. Wilson was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church where he was a former superintendent of Sunday School and trustee of the church. He was also a trustee of Coal Creek Township. He was a farmer before retiring and moving to Florida. Born July 10, 1898, at Wingate, he was a son of John W. and Mary Etta Hightower Wilson. He was married in 1927 to Ruth Crane of Wingate, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Charlotte W. Allen of Apopka; two grandchildren, Greg L. Allen and Susan A. Connely of Florida; three great-grandchildren; and aunt, Bertha Hightower Zeigler; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at Apopkan, and burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. smc
